About Where’s Jessie B.
Hey hey, it’s Jessie B., your well-traveled friend!
I’ve been working in the travel and media industries for over a decade—creating videos, writing, editing, marketing, and lots of other behind the scenes work for travel brands. I get a first-hand look at travel trends, up-and-coming destinations, and insider tips to travel better. So it’s no surprise that somewhere along the way, I became “that friend” everyone asks…
So I started Where’s Jessie B.
With so many decisions to make while planning a trip (where to go? restaurants? hotels? activities? how do I even get there?) it can be hard to plan a trip that fits your taste—and budget—perfectly. So I started Where’s Jessie B. to help travelers like me sift through the noise and find off the beaten path places, hotels with style, and delicious places to eat, whether it’s a street tacos or a meal at a Michelin starred restaurant. You’ll find all of this, plus the resources to make it happen in my reviews, itineraries, and tips.
Well-traveled and
well-informed
I’m originally from the Washington D.C. area and currently live in San Francisco. I spend much of my free time exploring (and creating content about!) all the wonderful things to discover in California. But I’ve also visited 45+ countries, even living as an expat in Malta, Costa Rica, and Madagascar (really! I was a Peace Corps volunteer).
Off the blog, I’m the Associate Director of SEO + Video for AFAR, an independent travel magazine, and have spent more than a decade working in the travel industry. My career has allowed me to understand what makes a truly great travel experience stand out from the rest, what to look for in a hotel, and insider intel on how to get off the beaten path—whether it’s in a popular destination like San Francisco or a remote place few people know about. I’m also a ridiculously light packer (exhibit A) and a bit of a gear-head. These are the insights and insider tips I’m sharing with you.
