NEW HOTEL IN SAN DIEGO

Granger Hotel is an Art Deco Gem

Next time I go to San Diego, I’ll definitely be staying at Granger Hotel. The building itself is over 120 years old and located right in the historic Gaslamp district. In 2024, it re-opened after a $30M renovation (!!) that preserved the integrity of the original architecture. As a member of Marriott’s Design Hotels collection, you can expect beautiful interiors full of art deco charm. There’s also a lounge and cocktail bar, and comes with free admission to Aquavie, for all you wellness girlies out there.

STARGAZING IN HEALDSBURG

Hamel Vineyards is Hosting Astronomer-Led Stargazing Nights on Feb 7 + March 7

The beautiful Hamel Vineyards in Healdsburg (Sonoma) is hosting two astronomer-led stargazing nights this winter. It costs $110 per person ($85 for members) and includes wine and light snacks. Happening Feb 7 + March 7, plus they plan to host again in the fall if you can’t make these. You can book via Tock.

Want to turn it into a getaway? My favorite nearby hotels are Harmon House in downtown Healdsburg and The Madrona, just outside.

I stayed here back in 2022 and had a great experience. Central location, comfortable rooms, outdoor hot tub, and tasty food at Ox + Anchor. Plus, with temps hovering around 55 - 65 degrees in SLO right now, think this would be an excellent last-minute getaway to explore the area’s cute, small towns, wineries, and hikes. Don’t overlook the art museum in town either.
